My Story

I'm Luke (A.K.A ShadowWolfLukey), founder of ModerateMe. For more than 20 years I've been moderating and managing safety in online communities — from in-game help desks and fan forums to Discord servers and live creator streams.

My journey started young inside Habbo Hotel, where I worked in Help & Safety centres that became award-winning hubs for guidance and protection. I quickly moved into team leadership, running focus groups and managing staff to ensure users had a safe, welcoming environment.

That experience expanded into the Habbo fansite space, where I took on senior management roles. I didn't just lead teams — I also built community safety infrastructure like reporting workflows and infraction systems that supported both moderators and users.

I was later invited to serve as one of three Habbo Master Ambassadors, acting as the primary contact for the Oceanic team. I worked directly with Sulake staff, ambassadors, and players to close the gap on moderation and safety issues, running live education sessions and reinforcing positive culture.

Alongside this, I founded the Habbo Police™, a Help & Safety group dedicated to monitoring risks, flagging dangerous trends, and alerting staff. These initiatives helped identify threats early and shape long-lasting moderation solutions.

As my focus shifted, I became active on Twitch and Discord, both as a streamer and a moderator. I learned first-hand how to create safe, engaging spaces for creators — setting up Discord servers, managing live moderation on Twitch, and later applying those skills to TikTok and YouTube communities.

Why I Started ModerateMe

I've seen huge online communities — with tens of thousands of daily users — collapse because of poor moderation. I've watched creators face harassment, brand damage, and financial loss because their safety systems weren't strong enough.

Toxicity doesn't explode overnight. It starts quietly, like a seed, and by the time it's noticed the damage is already done. Too often, creators only value good moderation after it's too late.

We live more online than ever before. That means risks are bigger than ever — from trolls and harassment to scams and predatory behaviour. Yet access to expert moderation is often too expensive, or left to volunteers without the right systems in place.

That's why I built ModerateMe:

  • 🔐 To protect brands from hidden risks
  • 📘 To educate creators on what to look for
  • 💸 To deliver affordable expertise without inflated agency costs

My goal is simple: to help communities grow safely and positively while protecting both creators and their audiences.

A Bit About Me

Outside of moderation, I stream games and game development, and I'm also a proud dog dad to a German Shepherd and two Kelpie puppies. They keep me on my toes — but I wouldn't have it any other way.
